The official Twitter account for the “Tenchi Muyo!” franchise announced on Monday that a new animation series, “Tenchi Muyo! GXP! Paradise Start-Up Edition,” will be produced. The new series will be set in the universe of the “Tenchi Muyo! GXP” anime, which aired from 2002 to 2003.
“Tenchi Muyo! GXP” is a spinoff of the original “Tenchi Muyo!” anime, which aired from 1992 to 1993. The new series will be produced by AIC Plus+ and will be directed by Satoshi Nishimura, who also directed the “Tenchi Muyo! GXP” anime.
The cast and staff of the new series will be announced at a later date.
Characters
Yamada Seina is one of the main characters in the new anime, Tenchi Muyou: Paradise Shidou-hen, which was just announced and is already trending. Seina is a Japanese student who dreams of becoming an astronaut. However, her life is turned upside down when she's unexpectedly chosen to be the bride of the emperor of the four galaxies!
The new series is set in the "mainstream" continuity of the franchise, and will follow Seina Yamada, a boy who is taken in by Washu Hakubi and becomes a Pirate King. The series will air on TV Tokyo and other channels in April 2020.
